Dear
Pastor, Youth Minister or Church Leader,
LifeChangers Florence is scheduled for July 6-11, 2008 at Calvary Baptist
Church. God has really blessed the last five years and we are excited about
what He is going to do this year. LifeChangers is a ministry week for youth
that have COMPLETED the 7th grade on up through senior
adults. Participants will be assigned to work crews to do home repairs such as
painting, roofing, etc.
Total cost
for the week is $75 for each participant including chaperones. A non-refundable
$50 deposit is required for each participant at the time of registration. Please
emphasize, especially to the youth, that when they register that
this is a commitment and we will be counting on their participation. We
have had youth that dropped out at the last minute because “something better”
came up. Also, please emphasize that just because this is a local project, they
can’t leave to go to football practice, a dentist appointment, baby-sit, play
ball, etc. They need to treat it just like a mission trip that is out of town.
This has been an issue every year, so I wanted to clear that up in the very
beginning.
Worship
services will be held on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday nights with our
celebration service being on Friday night. We will be doing some “Fun Stuff”
again this year such as bowling, swimming, etc. We will have our “Snack Shack”
available where drinks and snacks may be purchased. Cost for the activities and
snacks will be the participants’ responsibility.
We
need churches to provide lunches at the work site and the evening meals. We
also need crew chiefs that have construction knowledge and relate well to youth,
to supervise a crew of 10-12 youth and adults on a work site. We
trust God to provide the resources as He has in the past. If someone would like
to make a financial donation to support this ministry, the check should be made
out to FBA, marked for “LifeChangers ‘07” and mailed to 2208 Pamplico Hwy.,
Florence 29505.
You will
find a registration form enclosed. Youth who have completed 7th
grade through senior adults are encouraged to participate. If you have youth
that want to participate, you must send an adult (age 21 or older) of the
same sex for every 5 young people. Be sure this is a responsible, mature,
adult you would trust your own children with. Please fill out the registration
form and return it along with the non-refundable deposit to Florence Baptist
Association, 2208 Pamplico Highway, Florence SC 29505.
Deadline for registration is
May 1, 2008.
Please be sure to include tee shirt size for each participant. If you have any
